Josef accompanies the tours personally on a weekly basis. As a fully qualified guide he can introduce you to the loveliest locations and mountain passes that the region has to offer. Josef is a passionate biker himself and, as a hotelier, is always ready with some insider tips to suit every taste and preference.
Motorbikes and my favourite route
My first motorbike was a Yamaha XT 600, which I acquired during my three years in the Saarland. After that I was too busy looking after the German national ski team to spend much time motorbiking. Then I met my wife, Helga and in 2005 we took over the hotel from my parents. Once the children were bigger I caught the motorbiking bug again, and I now own a KTM 1290, which means I am now in the enviable position of combining business with pleasure.
I really enjoy introducing my guests to the bendy roads of the Allgäu, culminating with the fabulous view down from the Pfänder over Lake Constance.
My favourite route is the road up to the Riedberg; on asphalt with one curve after another (motorbike slalom).

Unless he is out with a group, Josef is in reception from 08.00-11.00 each day to give guests individual touring advice and insider tips.
Motorbike hire
Motorbike hire can be pre-booked via our partner company Motorradhaus Nuber. Please make your reservations at least 2 weeks in advance, to ensure that the bike is available when you arrive.
